OUR STORY
Upholstery Workroom was founded by
T Gary Hilbert in 1985 and is a "To The Trade" company. We have been in our current location since 1993. Gary worked tirelessly building this business into what it is today. His work was impeccable and it's evident in all the furniture that has been made in this workroom. Though he is no longer alive, we honor his legacy by maintaining his high standards in all our work going forward.
We are a completely custom shop, making furniture with classic "old world" techniques to more modern styles. We use kiln dried alder frames that are double doweled and glued. We use true (8) way hand tied coil springs and prepare our frames for upholstery with high end jute webbing, burlap. cotton, Dacron and high resilient foams.
Our furniture is made to our clients exact specifications and we can work from blueprints, shop drawings, sketches and renderings or photographs. We can make almost any style of furniture and appreciate the challenge of making your 'original' designs a reality. Our furniture is made to last and would always be worthwhile reupholstering and remodeling should your taste change. We are capable of making furniture in multiple quantities with out sacrificing quality. We have worked with some of our clients for over 25 years.
